Bombers Add New Weapon!

In a season where many changes await on the horizon, the Bombers finally made an addition to the squad.
Manager Craig Ross named Chris Ruggiero to the team on Tuesday. Ruggiero worked out with the team this past Saturday and impressed his new teammates the whole day. “He's really very good and seems like he will fit in”, said Tom Pydeski. “(He)…has a sweet stroke with a lot of pop. He plays anywhere and is good defensively as well.” Tony Sibilla felt Ruggiero was the man from the get-go. “Any guy who e-mails me on January 2nd about playing Softball in April is the kind of player I want on my team. I knew he was going to be good but after seeing him on Saturday, I’m glad he’s playing for us.”
The Bombers have some power in the lineup with John Kennen, Randy Wright and Ross but could use another big stick. Ruggiero showed some of that power by blasting a few long shots to Right Field. And yes, the Bombers have another lefty. “I think we now have the most lefties of any team in the league”, said Sibilla. “It won’t be so helpful to other teams who want to put a lesser fielder out in Right. They are going to have to start playing us straight up. That will open up other areas of the field for us.”
Ruggiero was very happy to be joining his new team. “I didn't think I was going to be able to find a league, let alone a team to play on”, Ruggiero commented after finding out he would join the Bombers. “I only hope I can be a value to the team.” Time will tell just what Ruggiero will do to help this club but adding a power hitter with a good glove to any team will make them better. The Bombers hope that this is just one new piece of the puzzle that will help solve the question of how to win the league championship.
