Amnesty International @ West Windsor - Plainsboro High School North
Plainsboro, New Jersey
Amnesty International (AI) @ High School North is comprised of many individuals who have a passion for fighting for human rights. AI itself is a worldwide human rights organization that has well over one million members. Throughout the year at North, we sponsor and execute many different activities that bring human rights awareness to the school and take action against human rights violations. Some of these events have included the Hunger Banquet, the 30 Hour Famine and Human Rights Awareness Day. We have also participated in AI's Urgent Action Network where we write letters to governments around the world asking for the release of prisoners of conscience, protesting human rights violations, as well as showing support for actions taken to advance human rights. Furthermore, we also participate in many charity drives such as the Crop Walk which works to eradicate hunger in the world.
