West Windsor, NJ Oct. 16, 2007
Lion Takeo Ishimasa, the 2008 District 16B Peace Poster Contest Chair sent email to encourage all district clubs to sponsor
the contest in their community. "It's that time of year again. The children returned to school last month and the Lions International Peace Poster
Contest is in full swing. If your club participated in last year's contest, thank you and keep up the good work.
If your club did not participate, what are you waiting for? This is a great way to support youth programs and to let
people know what Lions are about."
"Peace Around the World" is the theme of the 2007-08 Peace Poster Contest. Lions clubs can sponsor the
program in their community for children in local schools or organized, sponsored youth groups. Students, ages
11, 12 or 13 on November 15, are eligible to participate. Through the contest, students are encouraged to visually
depict their interpretation of the contest's theme.
Lions clubs may purchase a contest kit through the Club Supplies Sales Department. A kit must be purchased
for each contest sponsored. The contest must be sponsored by a Lions club. As of October 16, the district
chairman has one Peace Poster kit available.
