West Windsor, NJ June, 2008
Lion David Mostello, Chairman of the Lions Club Scholarship Committee, on two successive nights presented the scholarships
to seniors from the West Windsor Plainsboro Regional School District. Each applicant submitted an essay to the committee. The
committee reviews and rated the submissions in several categories and selected the winners, a boy and girl from each high school.
The Midland Community Service Scholarship (MCSS) was established in honor of Bernt Midland one of West Windsors leaders in
community service activities and a member of the West Windsor Lions Club.
On June 10th, at the WW-P High School North Lion David Mostello presented the scholarships to:
- Rachel Peterson received the Lions Club College Scholarship for the girls. She will be attending Indiana University at Bloomington.
- Augustus Chang received a College Scholarship for the boys. Augustus will attend Cornell University.
- Carolyn Breden Received the Midland Community Service Scholarship. Carolyn will be attending Bucknell University. Carolyn was team captain of the Swim Team at High School North, and a Member of the Environmental Club. She also participated in the Governor's School on the Environment.
On June 11th, at the WW-P High School South Lion David Mostello presented the scholarships to:
- Abbey Bemis received the Lions College Scholarship for the girls. Abbey is attending Denison University in Ohio.
- Matthew Hasling received the Lions College Scholarship for the boys. Matt was an Eagle Scout with Troop 40, BSA, and did a lot of other community service.
