Gifted Child Society - Summer Super Stars program. One of the oldest programs for gifted children in the country, the society runs weekend courses at Bergen County Technical High School in Hackensack and a summer camp in Allendale. Students must have a minimum IQ of 130 to participate; the society also runs a service that will conduct an IQ test and analysis for $150.

Academically Gifted and Talented Youth Program. A weekend school affiliated with Montclair State University, the program
offers courses for students from pre-K through high school at the college campus. Courses include rocketry, algebra, chemistry, social studies and history. The program also runs a summer camp and Hi-Jump,
which allows gifted high school students to take accredited college courses on campus. Students must score in the 95th percentile of standard achievement tests, perform above grade level in
reading and math and/or have a recommendation from a teacher, principal or psychologist.

Center for Talented Youth, at Johns Hopkins
University, committed to offering challenging and innovative educational opportunities for academically talented students. Annual talent search and assessment (national and international). Students
qualify for the Talent Search by scoring at or above the 97th percentile on an in-grade, nationally normed standardized aptitude or achievement test. They then apply to the Talent Search and register to take a rigorous above-grade-level test designed to reveal more fully the extent of each participant’s mathematical and/or verbal reasoning abilities.

Gifted and Talented Program at Fairleigh Dickinson University for seventh and eighth grade students – “a unique and challenging middle school experience where students take a college level course and receive one college credit upon their successful completion of all requirements of the program. Students meet after school one day a week for eight consecutive weeks. The course topic outlines are selected and developed by FDU faculty and the middle school administration. Course material is chosen with the intent of expanding the student's knowledge base furthering their ability to critical thinking, and exploring technology in the new millenium. Fairleigh Dickinson University faculty provide teaching and support. At present, Columbia Middle School in Berkeley Heights and the Fieldstone Middle School in Montvale are participating in the program.
